Sharon Ling, Service Partner
Human Resources and Labor Relations
I began my career with Macomb County in January of 2014 as a temporary employee in the Human Resources and Labor Relations Department (HRLR). I was hired full time in June of 2014 as a Typist Clerk I, where I was responsible for creating badges, processing employment verifications and providing administrative support. Within a few months, I was promoted to an Account Clerk III processing terminations, leaves of absence, FMLA and workers compensation claims. In May of 2015, I was promoted to Team Coordinator for Karen Bathanti and her team. I coordinated labor and employee relations meetings, maintained confidential files for sensitive matters such as discipline or employee assistance program referrals and processed unemployment claims. In June 2017, I was promoted to Service Partner. As Service Partner, I provide strategic solutions and guidance on a variety of human resources related matters for the Department of Roads and Planning and Economic Development. Prior to joining Macomb County, I spent 14 years working for Compuware Corporation as a Course Developer and Training/Technical Support Representative. I have lived in Macomb County my entire life and am now privileged to call Macomb County my place of employment.
